brrrrr- its cold

wow. the high today is 68. it is soo cold. i had to make my daughter change out of her shorts to pants and grab a jacket today. it was freezing! windy even. i took my other two out on the swing set around lunch and it was still cold. i almost went inside to put on shoes even. i hope it doesnt get to much colder. i'm just not prepared for it. so far the weather here has been very similar to phoenix (except of course the humidity) last year the winter wasnt too bad i just hope for the same this year. the cool air is refreshing though.
today has been very pleasantly calm. i was able to get dishes and laundry done(clean, not put away) and the kitchen swept(at least 5 different times) and sat down to watch a little of mr rodgers neighborhood. my kids have been pretty calm and well behaved today too. very happy day so far. i hope my oldest daughter is in a good mood after school. she has been very moody lately. i need to read up on 8 year olds. i really dont know too much about parenting them. my expertise is really 3 to 5 year olds (they are soo cute at that age). i didnt get to go grocery shopping before nap time like i had planned. i am out of milk too. i might have to go after school but i hate trying to shop and keep track of 3 kids...
whoa..door bell just rang and boom, napoleon dynamite. it was a beautiful black girl selling magazines, and wow she talked so fast. asking me questions and all sorts of stuff. it wasnt until i asked her to cut to the chase that she expalined she had magazines to offer. when i told her i had enough magazines she said i shouldnt focus on the magazines but what the program was doing.
here is where i am so proud of myself here was my response.
"i'm sorry what was your name again?" "ebony, thank you so much for coming here today. it has been a please talking with you but i am really not interested in any magazines and cant help you out today. you are doing a great job. i know what you are doing is hard and you are doing great. thank you"
at which point we shook hands and she left and i got to go back inside. and we were both happy. i learned that in the book i'm currently reading where the auther talks about how to get what you want but still have a positive conversation resulting in a win-win situation. wow. i'm impressed. and a little weirded out. she talked so fast and just kept going, i almost looked around for the camera.
well, its time to end nap time and go get my daughter.

sounds like ebony was trying to pull a grift on you. Talk to lord dave, he apparently knows them all.

also..." i almost went inside to put on shoes even." It was 30 degrees out when I woke up this morning. Jacket and jeans in near 70 degree weather??? Are you nuts?

Hope you had a good weekend.

Sounds like you are quite the personable personality... well, I already knew that but Ebony didn't. So what are you going to do with your new super powers???

Yeah, I was gonna say, the high here today was barely over 50. 70 is practically swimwear weather.

Oh, and when she said her name was Ebony, did you want to ask where Ivory was? You know, like in that one song:

    Ebony and Ivory
    Live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard
    Oh Lord, why don't we?
