my town is so cool.

so we had county fair day the end of sept, where the whole town shuts down to go eat food, ride rides and watch the rodeo. then nov is wurstfest- the afor mentioned festival to sausage and beer. then the first thurs of december is wassailfest. we all gather downtown where the streets have been blocked off and wonder from store to store drinking free wassail, alcholic and non, and we vote on our favorite wassail. this was last night. we got to watch a very cool "band" consiting off 3 bag pipes, 3 snare drums a bass drum and 2 regular drummers that did really cool twirly things with their drum sticks in between beats. it was fun. the air was cool- in the forties and the wassail was hot and it was good. then my mother in law and mr poni left me outside to go to the bathroom. its crowded and i stand outside and wait looking for them so as to make sure we dont get lost from eachother. well they get out of the restroom and decided to wait in line for coffee. i step cautiously away from the stroller momentarily to open the coffee house door and yell to them. they dont hear and i am nervous being more than a foot from my kids so i go back to the stroller. my oldest decides to brave the waves of people drinkning coffee and waiting in line for the bathroom to get to her dad which i can just barely see. in the long run they left me outside for 10 minutes with a screaming baby who was cold and tired and a 3 year old who also had to go potty. the door was small and this place looked like an edgefest concert, you know like i could just jump up and go crowd surfing at any moment, so its not like i could just go on in with my double stroller and young kids. they didnt even come out to check on me once they finished the restroom, they just hopped in line and kept me waiting. i was furious! and i totally snapped at them when they came out. i even had to take my toddler back inside so she could go the the bathroom too. i was just so angry that i was left sitting out in the cold. i expect more from my husband. we left after that. then at bedtime i told him i was still waiting for an apology, i got a lame one at best. humph.

Sounds like a good time- except for the being left out in the cold thing. That kinda sucks.

There are large comfy office chairs, and one couch. It was a dead night, hardly three people there counting me and the guy who was running the place. The owners have to crash there alot due to the times they put in. (open 11, close 2-3 am) Since everyone knows me, and I didn't tell anyone to wake me up for anything, they let the sleeping dog lie.
