its a blankie day

wow. we have been so dry here until today. it is pouring. alot. i am home with two kids who cant go outside, and are excited because of the rain. so mom declares "its a blankie day!" i pile all the favorite blankie of the kids and some of my own in the living room floor. then i toss all my couch pillows down too. not enough i think, so i get my bed pillows and shams and add them to the mix. no, not quite done yet. i grab all the blown up balloons from the bday party too and throw them in the floor. yup, thats good. we click on pbs and watch mr rodgers. its fun. they are a little rambunxious(?) still. now i have put in toy story 2 and kids 2 and 3 are calm on the floor. kid 3 loves few things as much as a good blankie. especially his. and he loves balloons just as much. kid 2 loves cowboys and dinosaurs so we're good. so far i have only lost the computer once during the storm.
hey, how are the huskers doing? i am wearing my huskers tshirt today and i feel like i should kinda know how the season is going b/c if i go out in public i am guarunteed someone will ask.
i had lots of plans today but as long as it keeps raining those will have to wait. my car is getting washed today too, so i am with out a car until they bring it too me. hopefully it wont be too much longer now. i hate to be with out a car in case of an emergency. our car has reeked to high heaven for several days now so we finally broke down and took it to get the carpets shampooed. i think milk was spilled in there somewhere- rotten milk- yuck. but it is totally possible the smell is thanks to the toxic socks that lord dave left in my car from his visit. i'm sorry but i threw them out- there's no saving those things. someone will have to break the news to him, but i feel he will be pleased that his socks have been gracing our presence until recently.
the hermit crab is nammed lissa now. she is in a cage right next to charlie the chamelion and both seem to be doing ok. i dont think lissa will make it though. the pet store said they know about land hermit crabs but that beach ones are different. oh well. kid 1 already has plans to bury her when she dies. come on its not like i can drive back to the beach where grandma got her from. now charlie, if things go bad i can just let him go out my front door. but thats just me being prepared as i said both seem to be well at the moment. kids and cats are enjoying our new guests immensly.
