happy fourth

so we were all geared up to go spend the evening at the park last night watching the fire works. it is an awesome display. mr poni got off work early and i bought the cool neon light up necklaces and then it started pouring! we were so bummed. try to consolidate three young kids whose fireworks got canceled last minute. we cracked open the neon sticks, turned out the lights and made our own laser light show to the patriotic songs we all sang (okay mostly me) at the top of our (my) lungs. it was an okay substitute, fun but we still were upset that it rained. oh and we watched the cat returns by misoki. it was cute.
today my oldest has strep throat. we hung out at home all day except for the doctors visit and the trip to walgreens for antibiotics.while she was sleeping i took the younger two out to the garage where they played and i did some lawn work. some because it is hot and humid thanks to the rain last night. then at 8:30pm i get a call from my friend, do we want to join them watching the fireworks? so i quickly loaded up my kids, sick one too (i gave her strict instructions to stay in the car and not interact with anyone so she doesnt spread germs, but that she could see the fireworks) to watch the great display that was rescheduled for tonight and we found out about it at the last minute. it was nice.
now i have put the kids to bed and played fetch with my dog.
oh, and remember mr poni's b-day is friday.
