our scout camping trip

Wow!
we survived! we are back from camping and what an experience. the girls had a great time. we had lots of fun and some learning experiences too. we know we need to bring a fan for sure the next time we camp. we learned that my van is not designed for going off road (I'll have to remember to bring my jeep next time), we learned that you need to make sure the smores makings are in the cooler and not melting in the hot van, we learned to pack lots of more water, and that our girls aren't fans of blueberry muffins. we learned you should never sit on a cactus, or pick up a hot stick from the fire (even if it is outside the fire circle). we learned that boys like to play with machetes, and bones and dead snakes, but they can also help hold down barbed wire for you to cross and throw boulders down mountains for you to hear them crash, and help you climb down rocks to collect quartz. we learned that it is fun to play charades and laugh at each other. we learned our sister girl scouts are generous with their fans and non melted marshmallows, and that we like to help our sister scouts out in return with sharing hand sanitiser and teaching them songs we know. we learned you can find all sorts of shapes in nature. we learned that horses can live to be 27 years old and that cows almost never die of old age. we learned that no matter what we do as a troop, we have a great time together!
