its my turn!

hey, why not, right. i thought i'd give this thing a try. since, i am now a self confessed addicted blogger, checking the blogs of my friends at least four times a day. sick isnt. so now i have a new outlet for my obsession, my very own blog. one which i can check twenty times a day and not feel guilty; and i can post as much as i want, so i am not disappointed while i am checking my blog twenty times a day. if i want, i can make sure there is a new post everytime i check it. and the sickness just goes on.
so we are in big preparations here in south texas for the hurricane that is about to visit. like any good small town, we created a run on the grocery stores last night to make sure we were all stocked up. i too found myself at walmart last night at ten pm. (walmart?- i know. yeah small towns). they were sold out of bread, milk and water. i managed to get my hands on some bread and milk, not the usual brands that i am loyal to though. but as for the water, well i am just not willing to beat up other people just to get my hands on some resources. i havent been desperate enough yet, i'm sure put in a desperate situation i might find it in me too to beat up an old lady if it meant the survival of my children. but it doesnt right now. i left walmart sans water. talked to my mom later that night and found out apparently everyone is sold out of water. she secured the last bottle from sams in austin. she checked heb, the grocery store in town, and found them to be without as well. for those of you that dont live here, they are accustomed to flooding here and expect that if the hurricane continues its predicited path that we will flood. might loose electricity. but dont worry, my house is high. we'll be just fine.
i am very excited. my husband has a surprise planned for my birthday this weekend. i am the only one who doesnt know what it is, but i am very excited. by grilling my husband (i usually win every time) i am pretty sure that someone(or more) is coming to visit. :) that is awesome. i was very upset that the current weather might dare to mess up my wonderful husband's surprise. but i think that our guest is still coming. (guest who is coming- it might be another one of those selfish feelings, but i am very glad you are stilling coming to see us, and bringing beer too, my husband says :) )

Just started a blog, and already getting spammed. How nice. I was wondering how long this would take :). Welcome to bloggerville, you can check your social life at the door.

So...do you have any idea who might be coming down to visit?

I know your B-day surprise. Just thought I would rub it in!!! Hey- we could send you some bottled water or something if worse comes to worse. What is it they say- Throught rain, ice, snow and drought- the mail must get through. I'm sure that works for hurricanes too.

There is a great story about this dog. I guess some podunk town somewhere has a festival every year. During this time they always have a worlds ugliest dog contest. For the last 3 years this dog won. It actually looks this way. The owner is quoted stating that its the nicest dog ever.

Y'know, I kinda blame myself for all this blogging going on. I started babbling about nothing in particular, and then Ithiel started, and then ComFan, and slowly, but surely, everybody started doing it.

And getting all the links and HTML figured out isn't all that difficult to do. I think you'll be able to figure it out without needing Ithiel to help out (unlike some people). :)

So welcome. Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging.
